The Canary Islands are situated in the Atlantic Ocean a few hundred miles off the west coast of Africa. Tenerife is the largest of the islands and takes approximately 4 hours flying time from the U.K. Most airports in the U.K. fly to Tenerife. The Canary Isles are part of Spain so the language in Tenerife is Spanish although English is widely spoken.
