Discover El Hierro This is the most westerly of the islands of the archipelago. Its shape is triangular and has a coast of cliffs. There are over 7,000 inhabitants. With a surface area of 278km2, it is the smallest of the islands. In the centre, there is a high plateau and its highest point is Malpaso (1,501m).
