Fuerteventura - 02.05.2008 - The ship, which belongs to the Armas company, is sinking fast off the coast of Tarfaya and is unlikely to be put right. Scores of passengers had to be evacuated at sea by the Moroccan Navy and fishing boats after the vessel began to keel over, a short time after beginning the crossing to Puerto del Rosario. The company says the ship suffered damage to the hull in a collision with the jetty. A plane was sent to Morocco from Las Palmas last night to collect Canarian passengers, although it was unclear whether they would be allowed to leave Morocco without their passports, which had been left on the stricken ship.
