Canary Islands - 06.05.2008 - A spokesman said yesterday that red tape will be relaxed significantly in the event that a viable project for a quality hotel is submitted for planning permission. Uncertainty over the possible renewal of the controversial moratorium is believed to have prompted at least one top hotel chains to shelve plans for the Canaries and the announcement is seen as a late attempt to prevent the investment from moving elsewhere.
