Costa Calma - 08.05.2008 - The baby, aged just four months, was airlifted to Las Palmas to be treated for serious head injuries. His mother, a Uruguayan woman, was arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred at 17.30 in Costa Calma (Pájara). Police say the woman and her husband had been involved in a heated argument moments before. Witnesses described how the woman then picked up the baby and tossed him over the 15-metre cliff screaming that she 'wanted him to die'. Doctors in the main Children's Hospital in Las Palmas said last night that the baby was in a critical condition and had needed a blood transfusion.
