Las Palmas - 09.05.2008 - The dispute was resolved on Thursday, after an 11-day stoppage which caused major problems, particularly on the city's flagship Las Canteras beach. The company accused the cleaners and sweepers of deliberately tipping wastepaper bins onto the beach to make it unusable. The agreement, brokered by an independent arbitration panel, gives the workers a 21% pay rise over the next four years.
