La Palma - 15.05.2008 - The dealer sold several new cars to unsuspecting customers and fitted number plates copied from other vehicles rather than register the cars to obtain genuine  plates. Customers were told the paperwork for their new vehicles was in the post, but rarely received the documents. According to police, the dealer hoped to avoid paying the manufacturer for the vehicles given that they were never formally registered as sold.
