European Parliament considers Granadilla visitThe European Parliament is to consider sending a delegation to investigate the latest claims of irregularities concerning the building of the port in Granadilla.

Granadilla - 25.06.2008 - The Parliament's Petitions Committee is to decide today whether, on the basis of information received that the watch-dog body created by the Canarian authorities to monitor the environmental impact of the port is not neutral, it should send a team of MEPs to examine the accusations in detail. Chairman Marcin Libicki, who headed the Committee's visits to Spain's east coast last year to investigate land-grab claims by British residents, says the issue merits further discussion before a decision can be taken.
