More migrant boats land in Gran Canaria

The recent spell of good weather has brought the anticipated surge in arrivals of migrant boats. Following yesterday's 179 Sub-Saharans who arrived in Los Cristianos in Teneife, today has already seen two boat-loads of migrants enter harbours in Gran Canaria.

Gran Canaria - 01.07.2008 - The boats arrived in Mogán and Puerto Rico around 6am this morning, with a total of approximately 150 Africans, who have been given First Aid by the local Red Cross and will be taken to temporary holding centres while plans are made to send them back to their countries of origin.
