Gan Canaria - 02.07.2008 - The unexpected gusts, which were dangerous for parts of the day, lifted the roof off the local sports centre, which may have to be closed due to the safety risk. Elsewhere, many parts of Tenerife were badly hit by the winds and driving conditions became treacherous in exposed places. The blustery conditions are expected to continue for much of Wednesday.
