Tourist Board gets tough on image theft Gran Canaria's Tourist Board is to take legal action to prevent pictures of the island being used to promote other destinations in the Canaries, particularly Tenerife.

'Until now we have taken the line that the publication of our photos in articles on, for example, Tenerife, has been an innocent mistake but that has not always been the case' said a spokesperson yesterday. A source at the Board says matters came to a head when actor Orlando Bloom apeared recently in a popular women's magazine under headline 'in Tenerife' but the photograph was taken during his stay in Gran Canaria.
