OAP dies on beach An elderly lady has died on the beach at Playa de Las Américas. Police say the 80-year-old collapsed while in the water on the packed beach around lunchtime yesterday.

Despite efforts by lifeguards and paramedics to revive her she failed to recover and was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. No details have been given as to her identity yet.
