Siberia expedition returns16 teenagers who were selected for a star-gazing expedition to Siberia have returned to the Canaries after their trip of a lifetime.

Canary Islands - 08.08.2008 - The group was led by scientist Miguel Serra from the Astrophysics Institute in La Laguna and travelled to Moscow and then on to Siberia at the end of July to observe the night skies and witness a total eclipse of the sun. 'They had to put up with some tough conditions, particularly on the long train trip to Siberia, but the experience has taught them a lot about themselves' said Serra at a news conference yesterday. Next year's expedition will take another group of 16-year-olds to China.
