A bank in Lajita (Pájara) was raided yesterday by a man wielding a gun. Police say the raider made off with almost 2000 euros and is being hunted throughout the island.

Pájara - 15.08.2008 - The raid took place just after 10.30 in the morning when the man entered the normally quiet branch and threatened the cashier with the weapon. He left after filling a bag with the notes and jumped into a waiting car. However, although using a hat and sunglasses to avoid CCTV detection, he may have left a clue to his identity by not wearing gloves when opening the front door.
