Ryanair has fulfilled its threat to prevent web sites from making money from ticketing its flights but the Canary Islands are not thought to be badly affected by the move.

Canary Islands - 15.08.2008 - As of 25 August, people who have bought tickets for routes to and from the Islands from a source other than the airline's own site will find that they will be unable to board. Ryanair says it is refunding the money to the web bookers but it is then up to them to pass on the money to customers. It is believed that some routes to Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife may be affected by the controversial measure, which Ryanair says is due partly to security motives given that the web bookers do not collect full ID details on passengers.
