Las Palmas - 18.08.2008 - The odour is caused by problems in the drains and has been the subject of numerous complaints by local residents, but to no avail. Shops now say they will step up the protests to force the council to do something to eliminate the smell, which is driving customers away. The boss of a local language school says his pupils often complain of feeling sick at their desks due to the foul odour. The traders also say the drains are attracting scores of insects, particularly mosquitos.
