Canary Islands - 02.09.2008 - Sales plummeted by nearly 50% compared to August 2007 and the drop was even more pronounced in the commercial vehicles sector, which saw a 65% fall, reflecting the financial difficulties faced by businesses here. However, the regional association of dealers says that vehicle servicing and parts sales have not been affected as badly in recent months and drastic steps such as lay-offs may not be necessary.
