Prince confirms Theatre visit

Prince Felipe of Spain has confirmed he will visit Tenerife on 14 October to officially open the recently-restored Leal Theatre in La Laguna.

La Laguna - 30.09.2008 - The heir to the throne will be accompanied by his wife, former TV journalist Letizia Ortiz, for the ceremony, which takes place almost a month after the theatre reopened its doors after being closed for almost two decades. 7 of the 11 concerts held there have been sell-outs and nearly 6000 people have taken part in the guided visits organised by the town hall to show off the venue, which has cost millions of euros to refurbish.
