Police cancel conference after leave ban Police officers have had to cancel a regional conference in the Canaries after delegates were refused leave to attend the 2-day event in Puerto de la Cruz.

The decision has angered the union, which says it is considering its options after the ban was announced yesterday. Under the law, police officers are not allowed to strike but they can take other forms of protest action.
