La Gomera - 15.10.2008 - No crossings now operate on Tuesdays and week-ends see just one sailing in each direction, leaving Los Cristianos at 18.30. During the rest of the week, the islands will be connected by an early morning and lunchtime service. The reduced schedule has been interpreted as a signal that the firm intends to pull out of the route in the near future after failing to be automatically awarded the tender again. Tourism in Playa Santiago and Valle Gran Rey, both of which are stop-off points for the Garajonay Express, will be worst hit by the changes.
