Puerto de la Cruz - 16.10.2008 - The Santa Rita home has been closed temporarily due to the effects of the basement fire last week and the residents have been moved to other accommodation. However, the majority say they want to go back immediately in case the authorities decide to take advantage of the situation and close it for good. The home's director, Antonio Hernández, supports the demand and says there is no reason why the affected area cannot be sealed off for repairs while the rest of the home operates normally.
