Two die in cayuco tragedy

Two African migrants died shortly after arriving by boat in El Hierro yesterday. 14 other occupants are in a serious condition after their 20-day ordeal at sea, according to the local Red Cross.

El Hierro - 11.11.2008 - The boat, packed with 123 Africans, landed in the harbour at La Restinga and two of the occupants, one of them a teenage boy, died within minutes of arrival on the quayside. The migrants told aid workers they had left Guinea Conakry alomst three weeks ago.
