Tenerife - 11.11.2008 - All the owners have turned down the offer, which will mean the authorities now have to impose compulsory purchase orders to buy up the parts needed for the controversial extension from Icod to Guiá de Isora. The island's Cabildo said it was disappointed by the collective refusal and stresed the exchange was an attractive proposal. However, although saddened that small-scale farming would die out as a result, it understood that the owners preferred to obtain money for their properties.
