Tenerife - 13.11.2008 - A lorry intercepted in Oxford almost two weeks ago was found to be carrying 70 kilos of speed hidden in plastic containers. In simultaneous swoops in Marbella and Tenerife in the past few days, Spanish police detained a total of six people who are believed to be behind the operation. Further arrests are expected soon. 100,000 euros, as well as cash in sterling and a range of luxury cars have also been seized in the raids, which came after a lengthy intelligence operation by police in Britain, Portugal and Spain in recent months. Three of the people detained currently live in south Tenerife, where a total of five properties were searched.
