Tenerife - 20.11.2008 - The widening work has taken years to complete although a few smaller sections are still not fully operational, including the bridge at Carrefour giving direct access to the link road to La Laguna. It is expected the bridge will open next week in time for the anticipated pre-Christams rush to local shopping centres. The new 6-lane section completes the major work carried out on the 20 km stretch of motorway between Santa Cruz and Güimar, which is used by an average of 90,000 vehicles every day.
