Accusations fly in San Sebastián town hall

Yesterday's meeting of San Sebastián de la Gomera Council was plagued by a flurry of accusations across the chamber floor, including criticism that the mayor allowed his wife to use corporation premises for personal business.

La Gomera - 28.11.2008 - Mayor Angel Castilla came under increasing pressure to explain why his wife was regularly seen using telephones and a computer in an office in the town hall when she is not an employee. The mayor countered by accusing his predecessor Manuel Herrera, now in opposition, of continuing to use the Blackberry mobile phone he was assigned as mayor and running up large bills.
