Gran Canaria - 02.12.2008 - The tourist, who opted not to give her name for fear of reprisals, said she and fellow Spanish travellers were left to fend for themselves throughout the emergency, which was caused when Bangkok Airport was taken over by anti-government protestors. 'We were told to take a bus to Singapore, which is 16 hours away. Neither the Consul or anyone else from the Embassy bothered to help' said the angry Canarian. It is not known whether the group managed to get on one of the flights that left Thailand for Spain in the last few hours.
