Tenerife - 26.05.2008 - Despite playing reasonably well against promotion-chasing Real Sociedad, the Islanders went down 2-1 in front of just 8000 fans at the Heliodoro Rodríguez Stadium. The defeat means that the side probably need to win one of the last three fixtures to stay out of relegation danger. Las Palmas, meanwhile, continued their fine form of late with a  deserved win away to Hercules in Alicante to move up more places in the table.
