Spain break Italy jinxLast night's only Euro2008 game saw Spain break a hoodoo that has haunted the national side for decades. 23.06.2008 - The Italian jinx has haunted Spanish football for years but was finally paid to rest last night. Luis Aragonés' side, although not playing as well as they did in the group stages, were much more imaginative than the Italians but could not break the defence down. 'Keeper Iker Casillas saved two penalties in the shoot-out to send Spain through to meet Russia on Thursday. The players were congratulated in person by King Juan Carlos, who visited the dressing room minutes after the game ended.
